Kristia S.

I’ll be the official NetGalley reviewer for this blog…I guess, if anyone would like to help. ^_^

I have gotten quite a few of my read and review requests approved by publishers on ^_^

This is an awesome feeling to get to read books that don’t come out until later this year or even next year! I have been approved for “The Iron Knight” by Julie Kagawa and “Tris and Izzie” by Mette Ivie Harrison. I’m excited! Especially, for Iron Knight! I’m such a big fan of the Iron Fey series. Team Ash over here!
Here’s the book covers and pitches.
Ash, former prince of the Winter Court, gave up everything. His title, his home, even his vow of loyalty. All for a girl… and all for nothing.
Unless he can earn a soul.
To cold, emotionless faery prince Ash, love was a weakness for mortals and fools. His own love had died a horrible death, killing any gentler feelings the Winter prince might have had. Or so he thought.
Then Meghan Chase—a half human, half fey slip of a girl— smashed through his barricades, binding him to her
irrevocably with his oath to be her knight. And when all of Faery nearly fell to the Iron fey, she severed their bond to save his life. Meghan is now the Iron Queen, ruler of a realm where no Winter or Summer fey can survive.
With the (unwelcome) company of his archrival, Summer Court prankster Puck, and the infuriating cait sith Grimalkin, Ash begins a journey he is bound to see through to its end— a quest to find a way to honor his solemn vow to stand by Meghan’s side.
To survive in the Iron realm, Ash must have a soul and a mortal body. But the tests he must face to earn these things are impossible. At least, no one has ever passed to tell the tale.
And then Ash learns something that changes everything. A truth that turns reality upside down, challenges his darkest beliefs and shows him that, sometimes, it takes more than courage to make the ultimate sacrifice.

A modern retelling of the German fairytale “Tristan and Isolde”, Tris and Izzie is about a young witch named Izzie who is dating Mark King, the captain of the basketball team and thinks her life is going swimmingly well. Until — she makes a love potion for her best friend Brangane and then ends up taking it herself accidentally, and falling in love with Tristan, the new guy at school.

And Tris and Izzie looks awesome and sounds it too! It seems like a sweet read. Love the book cover, very pretty and attention capturing. Love the font.
But, however, I did not know it was a retelling of Tristian and Isolde. I think I hated that movie. So let’s see how this modern version of it goes with me. (lol) I’ll give it a fair shot though! I’m a respectful person when it comes to reading books. :)

Oh, for skipping out on my PRESS PLAY this week was that I was at King’s Island with my youth group. I didn’t have time or energy to type up a song review. I did have the internet to do it though, it’s just I was so tired from walking around in the blistering heat. I bout’ died. So I’ll double it up this week. With “Rollin’ In The Deep” and “These Two Hands”. ^_^
